4th Grade Roaming Writers
Once a month teachers in grades 3-5 choose a student to "showcase" their outstanding writing work to their peers. This display just began this year beginning the month of March. We hope to continue this project for 2013-2014. Please congratulate these fine young writers!

Super Readers!
These readers did a "Super Duper" job of reading at least 1,000 minutes. With February being a short month, these readers set goals, pushed themselves and reached the Thousand Minute Reading Challenge! Way to go! Keep Reading!
P.S. Can they do it again? Watch for the March results!

Yes! We have more readers winning a free book or more for the month of March! Check this out...Everyone in Mrs. Hahn's class read 1000 minutes or more! Guess Mrs. Hahn will be treating her entire class for their excellent reading performance!
Challenge!? Can they do it in May? Can all of them really read in May 1000 minutes or more?
I guess we will soon find out!
A Class of Radical Readers in February!
"This Class has "Class"!
They did it! Everyone of these students read at least 1,000 minutes in the month of January! We celebrated and each student received at least one free book or more. Mrs. Hahn's hope for all of you is to continue your love of reading each month and enjoy the journey the books create in your minds! :)

Farmers Visit the Classroom
"Farmers in the Classroom"
On Wednesday, March 20, Farmers Helmut Wagner and Mike Strupp came to visit the 4th grade classes to discuss Agriculture/Farming with our students. They brought some of the tools they use on the farm (the smaller tools), samples of animal feed, seeds, and numerous additional items that are essential to farming. They also emphasized the importance of math, reading and science and the connection these academic areas have in the occupation of farming. All the fourth graders were so focused and demonstrated their great listening and questioning skills. We found it amazing to hear that farming is one of the top 5 most dangerous jobs!

March "Roaming Writers"
This month the 3-5th grade classes began showcasing the special writing talents of our students. Only one student was selected per classroom. These students displayed their talents on Friday, March 22, as they went from each grade and presented their special piece of writing. We would like to congratulate, Alek Anderson and Rory Navin for being selected as March's 4th grade "Roaming Writers!"

Creative Writing
This Fall students were informed of a creative writing contest offered by the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International Sigma Wisconsin State Chapter. Although they didn't win, they were winners in the eyes of their peers and Mrs. Hahn. Josh W. and Grace S. each received a Certificate of Award for their efforts in Creative Writing! We are proud of these 4th grade exceptional writers!
